For example, Mr. Feinberg served as the first trustee of the Dalkon Shield Claimants’ Trust, which disbursed a $2.4 billion trust fund for users of the birth control device. Two of the firm’s partners served as court-appointed Special Masters in the Agent Orange products liability settlement, responsible for designing the distribution scheme and then distributing the assets to claimants. The firm’s partners have been appointed by federal and state courts to assist the parties in devising innovative settlement approaches for resolving thousands of asbestos and DES cases in New York courts and have provided neutral claims evaluation services for various types of mass settlements.
